CONSTITUTION

The Society is called ‘The Horsham Rugby Club Historics Golf Society’.
|
|
|
|

|
|
The Society’s objective is to provide enjoyment and competition for its members by arranging approximately 6 Society golf days per year and such other events as the Committee sees fit.
|
|
|
|

|
Membership is open to present and past members of Horsham Rugby Club, aged 35 and over, and to others at the discretion of the Committee.
|
|
|
|

|
The Society’s financial year runs from 1st September to 31st August.
|
|
|
|

|
The officials of the Society are the Chairman, Captain, Secretary, Fixture Secretary and Treasurer and such other officials as may be elected at the AGM. The officials shall act as a Committee to manage the day-to-day affairs of the Society. One person may hold more than one of these roles, providing the Committee comprises a minimum of three persons.

The officials will open such bank accounts as are necessary for the Society’s affairs. Authorised signatories will be the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. Two signatures are required for any withdrawal or payment of monies from the Society’s accounts.

On Society golf days, all members agree to abide by the rules of the host club and the Rules of Golf as laid down by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.

|
|

The Committee may, at its discretion, exclude a member from competition or the Society.
|
|
|
|

|
The Society will hold an Annual General Meeting at the Society’s year-end to approve the Accounts for the year, to set the annual membership subscription for the following year, to appoint the officials and an auditor for the following year and to conduct any other business. All decisions will be by simple majority of those members present.

In the event of the dissolution of the Society, the funds, assets and properties of the Society shall be distributed equally among the then current members.
|
|
|
|

|
Changes to the Constitution can only be made at an AGM or EGM by simple majority of those present.
